Today was different in that it was mainly a “ride the bus” day. We gathered back at Trinity to experience our first day of packing the garment bags alone and remembering all of our things from the host family’s house. Overall, it was a success! Most had their

garment bags in perfect condition and only 2 things have been discovered left at the host homes. Both instances were quickly remedied. We heard lots of great stories about the homes. Hot tub, bunk beds, great pancakes, dogs to play with and a wonderful cat topped the list. All the great experiences made thank you note writing easy.
We posed for a group picture outside of Trinity before loading the bus and traveling on to Bloomington. Movies were watched on both buses, French braiding by Margaret was featured on the girls bus, and general fun with friends was the primary feature of the day.
Lunch was to be our first attempt at a fast food restaurant and we were able to find a fairly efficient Wendy’s close to the interstate at the time we were ready for lunch. A good sign for a successful tour!
Back on the bus we were ready for the final leg of the trip to Bloomington. We arrived to a waiting Patrick Pope our accompanist for the Choir School before he returned to Indiana University to pursue his doctorate. The singers who were in the choir last year were excited to see Mr. Pope again! First United Church was a wonderful venue. Our normal procedures of unloading the bus, having water, learning where to stand, where to sit and preparing the music filled up the next 1 ½ hours and it was time for dinner. Tonight we enjoyed great sandwiches from Subway!
Rehearsing
Again the audience was appreciative and the kids were great! As expected tonight’s concert was even better than last night. It’s what we love about tour- seeing the kids and their performances grow and mature!
Our hosts greeted us warmly and we were off to get some rest for tomorrow’s fun. It’s a backstage tour at the IU Musical Arts Center and then on to our tour of the Indianapolis 500 Race Track!
Enjoy some photos from the rehearsal and concert!
